Chīta Sen is a hand punched wool painting made by Lina.
The Chīta series is an ode to pastels and animal prints. Vibrant colours, organic shapes and abstract prints introduce a playfulness that contrasts with the intense black background, resulting in a zesty but refined aesthetic statement that grabs your attention.
Encasing each composition is an eye-catching, textured frame which, together with the soft fuzziness of the wool, adds an extra tactile dimension to each work. So please DO touch!
Punch needle is an embroidery technique using a small handheld wooden pen with a hollow needle that “punches” yarn through fabric. It is much slower and more detailed than the now popular tufting technique, which uses a powered tufting gun.
